As a 20+ year citizen of greater Seattle I am out to de-ice the The Seattle Freeze by being intentional about building meaningful connections with my neighbors. I launched my journey in April 2014 and in the last two years I have met and gotten to know the most wonderful people, all who live right outside my front door. I highly recommend getting over ourselves, out hang-ups and insecurities, and taking the initiative to start a contagious discipline of inviting in your neck of the woods. You won’t be sorry.
When I’m not neighboring and blogging, I work as a freelance marketing communications maven. I am also a grateful wife and mom, passionate about friendship and faith, and I love cooking, running, home re-modeling, hosting all manner of social gatherings and anything on HGTV. And, if you and I were to ever become friends, you would need to agree that The West Wing, The Newsroom and The Carol Burnette Show were the best shows to ever be on television.
Favorite Movie: The Hunt for Red October (“Give me a ping, Vasili. One ping only, please.”)
Favorite Restaurant: Anything by Tom Douglas. Crab cakes people, crab cakes.
Favorite Current TV Show: Madame Secretary.
Favorite Actor: I have a thing for Kevin Spacey. It’s OK, my husband knows and does not feel threatened.
If time and money were no object: I’d spend everyday on a catamaran sail boat roaming around the Carribbean. St. John would be my second home.
